New Jersey Couple Charged With Extreme Parenting After Raising Their Own Children
A New Jersey couple is facing serious scrutiny—and possible charges—for what city officials are calling a “reckless and unauthorized display of parental responsibility.”
Ben and Tammy Gordon are currently under investigation for knowingly violating the city’s newly enacted Parental Responsibility Ban, a cornerstone policy of the current progressive administration aimed at protecting children from dangerous influences such as parents.
Authorities allege the Gordons engaged in a sustained campaign to undermine state-approved societal indoctrination by assuming direct responsibility for their children’s education and upbringing—inside their own home, no less.
The evidence is both alarming and, according to officials, “deeply troubling.”
Tammy Gordon reportedly homeschooled the couple’s three children, instructing them in radical subjects like reading, writing, and mathematics. This occurred inside a non–government-sanctioned residence featuring a white picket fence, a well-maintained garden, and several unsupervised animal units roaming freely—none of which were registered with the city.
Neighbors testified that the suspect mother unit and her non-conforming juvenile dependents were seen eating what appeared to be nutritious meals together—three times a day. Even more disturbing, witnesses claim the family paused before eating to recite the long-outlawed ritual known only as “Grace.”
City social workers conducting a search of the premises were reportedly shaken to find no visible screens, cellphones, or government-issued EarPods anywhere in the home. The lone computer—now sealed off as a public safety hazard—was located inside a makeshift one-room schoolhouse, where it was allegedly being used for learning rather than approved recreational scrolling.
Officials moved quickly to quarantine the area to prevent the spread of independent thought.
In earlier decades, parents like the Gordons would have been publicly shamed until compliance was achieved. However, sources say the Gordons “clearly missed the memo.” Under current guidelines, parents are expressly forbidden from assuming responsibility for their children’s education or social well-being, as these services are efficiently provided by the State.
Authorities also noted that the father, Ben Gordon, was not without guilt in this brazen act of non-government-sponsored parental extremism.
Investigators revealed that Ben had been modeling fatherhood, reportedly going to work every day, returning home in the evening, and relieving his wife so she could rest after a full day of what officials described as “unlicensed storytelling, food preparation, and wisdom transfer.”
Child Protective Services have remained on the scene since Wednesday, carefully dusting the home for further evidence of family cohesion, personal responsibility, and other prohibited behaviors.
Charges are pending.
