Streaming Giant Introduces ‘Inclusion Tax’ — Your Monthly Invoice Now Includes Virtue Credits

In a move industry analysts describe as “peak 2025 nonsense,” streaming titan FlixFlare+ announced a new monthly surcharge called the Inclusion Tax — a fee designed to make viewers feel morally superior while paying noticeably more for the same shows.

Starting next month, customers will receive an itemized invoice that includes their subscription fee, sales tax, regional fees, and now Virtue Credits — a financial contribution toward “curated cultural inclusivity, emotional alignment, and globally conscious storytelling.”

Company spokesperson Luna Radiance Brookstone explained the fee during a press event held in a reclaimed bamboo meditation chamber.

“Viewers may not realize it,” she said, “but every time they watch a show that doesn’t have the exact demographic representation chart approved by the Council of Inclusive Feelings, someone somewhere is emotionally wounded. This tax is how we heal as a society.”

Under the new system, consumers automatically earn Virtue Points for watching content that meets the platform’s criteria:

  • +10 points for shows with a diverse cast

  • +15 for shows with no conflict (conflict is violent)

  • +25 for documentaries about emotional awareness

  • +50 if you sit through the credits to honor every lighting assistant’s journey

Meanwhile, watching pre-2010 content incurs Bias Penalties, increasing your monthly bill and requiring a written apology to the FlixFlare community.

Many users expressed confusion.

“I watched a 90s sitcom and my bill went up $28,” said subscriber Karen Fields. “What did I do? The laugh track felt inclusive to me.”

Analysts say this is the beginning of a broader trend.

“People used to pay for entertainment,” said media expert Tom Reynolds. “Now they pay for signaling moral compliance.”

To ease the transition, FlixFlare+ will offer three subscription tiers:

  • Basic Virtue – Includes ads and occasional scolding

  • Premium Virtue – Removes ads but adds guilt prompts

  • Ultimate Purity – Costs $49.99/month and guarantees you’ll feel enlightened after logging out

When asked whether the Inclusion Tax was simply a cash grab disguised as social progress, the company responded, “Absolutely not — unless that offends you, in which case we’re deeply sorry.”

As of press time, FlixFlare+ confirmed next year’s rollout of Guilt-Free Mode, where the platform automatically chooses “emotionally safe” shows for you — whether you like them or not.

Because someone has to say it.
