Neighborhood Declares Curfews ‘Authoritarian’ — Teens Now Governed by Vibes
Bedtime replaced with emotional readiness.
In a unanimous decision reached sometime after midnight, a local neighborhood council has officially abolished curfews, declaring them “authoritarian, time-based oppression.”
In their place, teens will now be governed by vibes.
According to the new guidelines, young people are no longer expected to be home at a certain hour. Instead, they are encouraged to return when they feel emotionally aligned with rest.
“Sleep is personal,” one community organizer explained. “We don’t want to impose night on anyone who’s not ready for it.”
Parents are advised to create welcoming environments that invite return, rather than enforcing it. Porch lights have been replaced with ambient mood lighting. Doorbells have been rebranded as “reentry suggestions.”

Early reports suggest teens are responding positively, though many are still processing whether sunrise constitutes peer pressure.
One father admitted the transition has been difficult. “I used to ask where my son was,” he said. “Now I journal about it.”
Officials insist the system builds trust. “Structure creates resistance,” one consultant noted. “Ambiguity creates character.”
The council is currently exploring the elimination of school start times, citing similar concerns about chronological dominance.
